Organizers said the event aims to advance China’s diplomatic agenda, showcase the progress of Chinese modernization, and promote a new model of cooperation across Eurasia. The forum will feature high-level exchanges in economics, trade and culture, while fostering people-to-people ties.
Niu Kai, vice mayor of Xi’an and member of the Organizing Committee, said the program will include 13 sub-forums on industrial cooperation, rule-making, cultural exchange, technological innovation and collaborative governance. More than ten economic and trade activities are also planned, alongside the release of a white paper on the Eurasian economy under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Delegates are expected from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, observer states and dialogue partners, as well as from Belt and Road countries in Central, South and West Asia. Political leaders, ministerial officials, local governors, representatives of international organizations, ambassadors to China, executives from multinational companies, and academic experts have also been invited.
Established in 2005, the Euro-Asia Economic Forum is a biennial platform for economic cooperation under the SCO framework. The 2025 edition marks its 11th session, jointly organized by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, the SCO Secretariat, China Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of China, the SCO’s Good-neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Committee, and the China Science Center of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences.
By bringing together governments, businesses and scholars from across Eurasia, the Xi’an forum seeks to strengthen regional cooperation and advance sustainable development under the Belt and Road and SCO frameworks.
